Since it’s GiGsWiGs 3.0 I thought I’ll do something a bit different gigs-wise.
FESTIVALS THIS MONTH YOU NEED TO CATCH –
This February’s festival/gig line up is definitely going to be one for the books! With many local gigs, and at least 5 festivals headlined by international artists. Mumbai, you are pretty spoilt for choice this gig season!
Rest assured we have artists competing to grab your attention, with some of them, playing on the same weekend!

VH1 Supersonic 2018.
Like every year before this, VH1 supersonic does not disappoint. They have brought in some MAJOR names over the years. This time around the 3-day festival in Pune, is bringing down the rock giants Incubus, the same day (Day 3) also showcases Plini with David Maxim Micic. They also have the English indie rock band Alt J on day 1!
For those of you into electronic/EDM/dance music, they also have in store- dance music greats like Sean Paul, Major Lazer, Marshmallow and many more!
On the indie side, we have bands right from AWKS to DJ SU Real, Your Chin, Rajakumari and mannny more!

BACKDOORS 2018– Mumbai Edition.
With one show in Bangalore and one in Mumbai for this edition, Backdoors is back for edition 2! For the first edition they got down Steven Wilson and Patrick Watson, José González with huge success.
This year, they’re getting down American rapper Anderson Paak with his band The Free Nationals along with London based- Wolf Alice and more! Backdoors has recently announced that Tesseract is off the line-up but they WILL be bringing them back for a tour later this year so YAAY.
On the indie front we have Prateek Kuhad, Divine to name a few.

Mahindra Blues Festival 2018.
The Mahindra Blues Festival has got to be the one of the MAJOR festivals we look forward to every year. This year around they’ve got a stellar line-up of guitarist Coco Montoya, singer Layla Zoe, Bombay’s own veteran band Blackstratblues and many more.
Like the earlier years, this edition of the festival will also be at the iconic venue, Mehboob Studios in Bandra.

John McLaughlin And The Fourth Dimension.
John McLaughlin is a legendary British jazz-fusion guitarist and composer. We’ll see him in action with his band the 4th Dimension. Being one of the longest running bands around, and with a maestro at the helm, you will have an experience of a life time! Due to popular demand, they are now playing, a second show on the 9th of Feb.
They will be playing at The Quarter at the Royal Opera House TOMORROW!
Their line up will also include India’s very own Ranjit Barot along with Gary Husband and Etienne Mbappe.
